Jazz, jazz, jazz: 20th century melodies in NDK
On April 26, 2013 several of the most prominent jazz artists in Bulgaria will perform on stage with the magnificent project, called The Art of Big Band.
Hilda Kazasyan, Vasil Petrov and Orlin Pavlov will gather to enchant the audience in the National Palace of Culture with beautiful jazz melodies from the 20th century. They will perform together with the Big Band Brass Association and Angel Zaberski. The event is part of the rich program of the International festival Salon of the Arts, held every year in NDK, Sofia.
Among the pieces that the charming Bulgarian jazz singer Hilda Kazasyan will sing are “Fever” and “One Note Samba”. The repertoire of Vasil Petrov, will include songs like “The Lady Is A Tramp” and “Killing Me Softly “. Orlin Pavlov will perform the wonderful pieces “Night and Day” and “Feeling Good”.
We’ve compiled a small bouquet of three magnificent perfomances of Hilda (One Note Samba), Vasil (I get a kick out of you) and Orlin (Shoulda). Enjoy!
Apart from well-know jazz standards, The Art of Big Band will also present original compositions by Angel Zaberski composed and arranged especially for the Big Band Brass Association.
Don’t miss the chance to dive into the beauty of 20th century jazz with The Art of Big Band. Tickets are sold by Eventim and at the box offices of the National Palace of Culture. The event will take place in Hall 3, and starts at 8 p.m.
