Kinomania: November Big-screen pleasures

Kinomania is an annual international film festival that never misses to turn November days in Sofia into a movies feast. Bringing masterpieces from all over the world, the festival offers to the audience a broad range of cinematic beauties.

Started in 1996, every year Kinomania presents a very well picked selection of international screenings. Some of the movies are shown for the first time in Bulgaria within the schedule of the event.

The festival shows both recent and classical movies. Within its schedule there are several parallel programs, among which – Bulgarian Cinema, Children movies, Italian cinema, Classic pleasures, Culinary cinema and  French Film Festival. For the classics selection, which started as a separate section of the festival in 2011, the organizers are bringing movie classics directly from 20th Century-Fox Archives.

Showcasing more than 50 movies in various categories from all over he world, selected carefully by the organizers, Kinomania offers the opportunity to enjoy big screen masterpieces for almost a month.  The film festival aims at presenting the most interesting movies from the recent year, some of which released for the first time in the country. It also showcases many international movies with awards from  prestigious festivals, and also with Oscar, Golden Globe, Goya and other awards.

Gradually Kinomania is expanding to other cities in Bulgaria, thus in 2012 covering also Plovdiv and Varna.

Tickets for all screenings are sold via, with prices varying from 2 to 10 leva, depending on the screenings category and the movie theatre.
