Sofia Opera and Ballet will broadcast online soon

Sofia Opera and Ballet will soon broadcast live performances, both free and paid, through the website of the opera.

The chief media consultant of Sofia Opera and Ballet – Mr. Valery Todorov, announced that a new digital platform for the Bulgarian opera in Sofia is on its way. It will offer its visitors online virtual access  to the building of the opera, access to news archives as well as performances archives.

Apart from shows, broadcast online, the newly created website of Sofia Opera and Ballet Theatre will also include virtual tours, interesting facts about the interior, sneak peeks behind the scenes, in the dressing rooms, during the rehearsals etc. The website will be launched within a week.

According to Valery Todorov:

The rich archive of the opera will be uploaded on the site, including valuable landmark premieres. However, the premieres uploading might take some time, due to copyrights


In the beginning, the site will offer real-time online broadcasts for a small amount of payment. Later on, there will be free and paid access to the broadcasted performances. There will be also an option for watching highlights from the most interesting performances. It is planned that all the above mentioned service become available for smartphones in the near future.
